After 2 years of sitting in my garage gathering dust, my QV scope finally made it into my office to begin the teardown process. The original owner had lost the software keys to use the scope so it was sold for parts only and that means I would not be able to use in the factory configuration. This is the most complex scope I’ve ever handled so the goal of the teardown is to see what parts I can use for photomacrography. The scope has a total of 6 fiber optic lights and all movements are powered, XYZ, even the objective zoom and ring light are all powered. It’s a massive unit and surprisingly heavy.
Let me know if you are interested in anything from the scope, the objective has already been sold to offset the cost of the scope.
